Holder: Stop Whining -Start Reading

Our top cop is whining. "I would have to read 100 reports a week..," the Justice Department's most essential mission: protecting the American people.

Our cities, counties, and states are confronting a once-in-a-century financial melt-down. Your job is helping them meet their challenge. At the same time, July, 2010, you set up the Advisory Council for Savings and Efficiencies. Let us not forget Guantanamo Bay, the Healthcare Fight, Trust busting, and your speaking engagements.

In that light, reading a hundred reports a week is nothing at all. Why can't you read them. You are the person telling them what you need in those reports. America and Congress knew you were shorthanded when you joined up. While personnel problems may have eased, It is your job to make sure you have the right people in the right job.

Our Justice Department is not an R & D outfit. Fast and Furious was much about whizz-bang electronics instead of shoe leather. Moving the cases out of Arizona is a start, however, that will not get a the root of the problem. Your job is to make damn sure your department is not violating a victim or suspect's rights, while the investigations are spending millions of dollars. With all that in mind, reading 200 reports does not seem like too much to ask, Sir. Here is some help:

Permissible Hiring Reasons People At The Top Are Allowed:

He is my friend

I always admired her (work, ethics..).

He was highly recommended.

If they do not work out, I tried him/her out, Wrong position. Part of being the top person is gaining control over your budget. You can only do that with the right people. There are many books on management. The athlete derivatives are normally bad, the love wolf entrepreneurs are normally good -because- they do so much more with less. Notice my emphasis on self-learning. Not trusting education right now.

Here are some bad reasons to keep an operation going: A non R&D firm claiming We spent too much money to stop. We have always done it that way. Gotta be guilty of something (heard that one on a police drama). But he is a great guy. My favorite, This guy is too good.

Please Note:

Sorry for the length. It does not belong as an article, because, Holder understood what he was walking into when he was confirmed.
