Massacres are not new. In this past election season, At least one candidate stated, There were crazy people around when the Constitution was written, Guns are Okay at my swearing in, If elected. The San Antonio Tea Party boasts Jerry Wilson, he signs his name, Live Free or Die Fighting.
Most Tea Party sites offer condolances to those families dealing with the massacre. Their sites are full of hot rhetoric. They do not seem to understand their Constitution is our Constitution, that for more than two centuries, we preferred ballots over bullets. When the far left was blowing up America, most made no constitutional claim. They attacked government institutions, not Congress.
If media reports are accurate, this attacker did not regularly listen to radio, far right programing and the like. His paranoia was focused. Public officials close to the investigation have made a loose connection between the shooting and the rhetoric, there is blood in the streets, who we are as a nation, is at stake, Congress needs to investigate.
