Maddow Gives A Four Star Iraq Report, 3 Lessons Learned

Ms. Maddow scored big in Iraq. Fast becoming GenX's Edward R. Murrow, Ms. Maddow scooped the broadcast media with the last combat brigade leaving Iraq. With strong support from NBC and the services, she delivered her show from her second choice, outside, in the night presentation (her first choice was hit by mortars or rockets before she went on live). She did a complete look into our Iraqi involvements. From delivering a tank round into a target to a pleasant walk on Baghdad's most bombed street, "It's safe now."

In interview after interview, she delivered a realistic picture of what we can expect, What we need to know: People living in the old combat zone, see success in equal access to government services. In Iraq it is electricity at the flick of a switch. The fixers, translators, need easy access to visas, a way out if things change. We need to understand the people in the war we are fighting. What do they see in our attempt (not what we think they see). No more Vietnam's. Many of her reports are on her site, I was not able to link to them.
